James is the founder and Executive Producer of Dogfish Pictures specializing in film finance and strategy. Film credits include Compliance (Magnolia Pictures, Sundance NEXT 2012), Amy Heckerling’s Vamps (Anchor Bay), Like Crazy (Paramount Vantage, 2011 Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner), Salvation Boulevard (IFC, Sundance 2011), and The Romantics (Paramount Famous, Sundance 2010) and the upcoming feature film Prince Avalanche (Sundance 2013, Berlinale 2013) starring Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch and directed by David Gordon Green. James recently invested in the MESA+ fund for media focused tech startups in NYC through MESA Global Bank. James is currently an MBA candidate at NYU Stern.

MICHELLE SOFFEN
Co-Founder/ Program Manager
Michelle began her career in film at Chaos Films in Tel Aviv, Israel as the Director of International Development. After returning to the States she began working as an Associate Producer for Dogfish Pictures. In 2012, Michelle was a community organizer for Headsets & Highballs, a media network organization based in New York, NY. During her spare time she moonlighted as a standardized tests teacher and tutor for Revolution Prep, which focuses on providing affordable programs and community outreach for its students. Michelle was also responsible for developing and running the Dogfish Pictures Internship Program.

JOANNA BOWZER
Program Manager
Joanna is a New York City-based producer, writer and director with projects in film, theater and the Web. She has advised or worked on the development and production of dozens of feature and short films, both in the U.S. and abroad, and she recently made her feature directorial debut with the project Delusions of Guinevere. In addition to working in film, Joanna has nearly a decade of experience working with tech and Internet start-ups, with 8 years of that in premium digital content acquisition and distribution. She most recently worked with iAmplify.com, a leading provider of audio and video online, managing integration for partners such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Meredith Corp and Conde Nast.
